Air conditioner or no air conditioner for baby?

This is something my boyfriend and I argue about every single day. We live in southern california, where its been 100+ degrees everyday, today its 105 . Our house is extremely hot because theres no trees or anything around us. The only a/c we have is in our bedroom in the window so im in there all day with our 1 month old  . My boyfriend says babies are supposed to stay warm and shouldnt be in the a/c. When he takes care of him, i get him back so sweaty on his back and head. I tell him all the time about SIDS but he thinks he is right . Who is right/wrong here?

Have your boyfriend go to the doctors with you to have the doctor explain that your child does not need to be overheating to the point of sweating.

He needs AC! They can overheat. If you're not comfortable with a certain temperature then the baby isn't either

You. I'd rather have my house cold where I could bundle my baby up than have him get so hot he sweats like that. It's not good for him to be that hot. I'd honestly take him to an appointment with you and talk to your pediatrician about it. So your ped can tell him. Hopefully he'll listen to a doctor.

He needs to stay in whatever temp is comfortable for you. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for the baby. Babies don't need a crazy amount of heat and they can easily overheat. I'd keep it under 80 for sure.

When infants/babies sweat they get dehydrated. The onset of dehydration is very quick and very dangerous. Plus sids is at a greater risk in high temperatures. Recommended temperature is 65-71 degrees. Cooler temperatures also keep bacteria and germs away.

Definitely needs some AC!! Babies can get overheated easily and it can cause a lot of problems like dehydration so they won't be going to the bathroom normally,elevated temperature and so on. Just think about how you feel when your overheated and that's how your baby could/would feel. If your too hot baby most likely is.

Recommended temp for an infant is around 75 degrees. They shouldn't be clammy or red at all, just comfortable.

Whatever im comfortable in I put on for us all. We keep it 72-74. If he seems cold I just put socks and pants on my son. Im not letting either of us melt in the california weather.

Ive never heard of a baby getting sids from being hot and sweaty. But no no no your boyfriend is wrong your child shouldnt be sweating that bad it should be in the ac if hot.
