Breast milk

When does it turn white? When my boob's leak it's some clear looking, thick, white speckled liquid. When it dries it hardens white. I know when we pump it's not gonna be some liquid we have to let sit to become milk. But is the first bottle still good? Do you first breastfeed in the hospital? For those that used formula, how soon did you give it to the baby? Did the doc discourage you? Anyone ever tasted their own milk? Is it gross?
