tmi...amniotic fluid?

So I'm 37wks n sum days and as of Tuesday I was 3.5cm dilated. Been having bad cramps and my back has been hurting (it always hurts so not sure if it makes a difference) and today I went to use the restroom and my panties were wet. It was a clear fluid and it smelled really sweet almost like syrup lol I've heard when ur water breaks it smells sweet. So could my water be leaking already?
