Advice on Cloth Diapers?

First-time mom here, and I'm pretty sold on cloth diapers. Out of all the styles I've looked at, I think I like prefolds the best. First, I just want to clarify that I understand how to use them: you have your prefold, you fold it in thirds or however it will fit, wrap it on your baby, put the cover over and secure it? Or do you set the prefold into the cover and then put it on and secure it? And if the baby is exclusively breast fed, you can just dump out extra poop if there's any and then throw it into the washing machine? And can they go into the drier or do they have to be air-dried? And I'm guessing while the prefolds will of course have to be washed regularly, for the covers you won't need as many or have to wash them as often? Aside from those questions, I'm thinking of getting them from KaWaii Baby since they are so inexpensive from there compared to other sites I've seen and I have read lots of posts recommending them. Any advice or experiences?
