He Has A Kid?!

So...my boyfriend and I have been together for a few months. He just told me he has a son who's 6 yrs old. He was raped by a woman right before he deployed and now has to pay child support and everything. He doesn't think this kid even knows my boyfriend exists but he also wishes he could be a father to his child. A dad. I am so freaking in love with this man and I'm very positive he's The One. (and no I'm not exaggerating) but I just have no clue how to process this. Has anyone else had an experience like this?!!? Help!
