So I am 30 yrs old and a FTM. I am about 30 weeks along now. I had been trying to figure out what was happening in regards to baby showers with our families. Well my SO'S family finally scheduled one, 4 weeks before I'm due. While this frustrates me a little bc I still have to shop for the items we still need after that and I work full time, at least they care enough to throw a baby shower. My family on the other hand is 'too busy' and I pretty much got the answer they are not gonna throw one. :-( this upsets me bc my side of the family is large and I have gone to and been involved with numerous wedding and baby showers and now that it's my turn no one wants to celebrate. Part of me wonders if it is because I waited until I was 30 to have children? My family has a history of starting families ages 17 through 23. But mostly I feel hurt and disappointed. It's not all about the gifts, it's about the celebration of my upcoming birth!

I guess I know where I stand in that side of the family now. :-(
