How reliable is heart rate for predicting gender?

Let me know if the heart rate for your baby was under 140 beats per minute and your baby was a boy, or if it was over 140 bpm and it was a girl!

My baby's heart rate is always in the 160-150s. I'm having a boy. Everyone told me if its lower than 150 it's a boy...he's never been below 150 lol

Honestly, it's a 50/50 chance so there are always going to people that it worked for & people that it didn't work for. As for the "science" behind it, there's a healthy range for the baby's heart rate to fall into. However, most doctors agree how high or low it is in that range has nothing to do with gender.

Here's what our baby girl's hb has been at for our appointments

6w4d - 113
8w4d- 169
14w4d - 150
18w6d - 140
19w4d - 142

So still above 140, which is what I heard was the line for boy vs girl, but not super high!

The Chinese calendar and the Mayan prediction methods were both right for me, and my boss said at least 6 babies in his family all had those 2 methods both be right!

Darn you guys! Giving me major sadness over here. My baby's has been above 150, but I'm only at 17 weeks. I already have a boy, so I'm hoping for a girl. I had him 4 years ago so i can't remember for sure, but I feel like his heart rate was always high.. Now it's back to square one in guessing until I have my sono in 4 weeks 😬
