Is giving birth really THAT bad..?

Question

So I was speaking to a woman yesterday who said I was crazy for having children. She told me that she has one daughter and the pain was SO excruciating that she's never having children again...I asked if there were any complications with her daughters birth and she told me none at all. Is she exaggerating..? I'm a FTM and I was calm about labor and the birthing process and now in kind of freaking out a little

It's not that bad! I kind of love giving birth. :) I had a pretty traumatic and long delivery with my 1st baby but it made me feel like I earned her and completely bonded me to my husband. My 2nd baby was so quick and easy I wasn't quite ready to be holding and looking at my baby when he came out so quick. :) of course, I got Epidurals but that made me enjoy the birth process even more!

No is not that bad, it hurts but not to the point to not wanting anymore kids, some women can't tolerate pain so just didn't do good.

My first was horrible I was in labor oct 19th at 10am. Didn't have him till Oct 20th at 9:24 pm. I did it with no meds or epi. I had to be cut because he got stuck; stitches like no other, stopped bleeding at 3 month's but didn't fully heal till 5 month's. I always said I didn't want another because of how horrible it was but once the baby is born the pain goes away and you forget. My son will be 3 in oct.
My daughter I was induced at 10am, got the epi at 620pm, pushed for 20 min had her at 6:53pm May 31st didn't rip or need to be cut, stopped bleeding at 2 week fully healed at 3 weeks! Every delivery is different. We will be going for a 3rd next year and possibly a 4th!

My first born wasn't all that bad. I also had an epidural. But I plan on avoiding that this time if I can. But I did feel some contractions before I had the epidural, and they hurt like hell. I think it's all in how well you deal with pain. I'm a big chicken. I don't like it. But I am absolutely looking forward to labor. Obviously not the pain part, but it's such an AMAZING experience and none of the pain matters after you're holding your baby. I felt such an adrenaline rush after he was ok ace him on my chest. Nothing else mattered. I just keep telling myself that the pain is only going to last so long. Don't pay too much attention to other people's stories cause everyone experiences labor differently.

Lol it's so relative!  My mom faints at the site of needles but went all natural for both labors and swears it was not that bad. Everyone's experience is different.  I'm not at all nervous about labor because I simply hate being pregnant and can't wait for baby to be out.  Even if the pain is terrible, I'd rather a short burst of intense pain than all the weeks of agony leading up to it.  I'm literally so excited to get her out that I will bare the pain.

I LOVED giving birth. I have a stepson, I've given birth 5 times and I'm 35 1/2 weeks pregnant! My first was natural, next 3 inductions and the last was a bit more complicated with preeclampsia and an emergency c-section. I have to have another section this time but I would much rather deliver him vaginally. I know some women have complications making it more difficult but SOME women just have low pain tolerance and can't handle anything. Mommyhood isn't for the faint of heart but childbirth is the easiest part! Hahahahaha! I love every minute of every bit of it!
