Do you think it's bad luck to purchase baby items before you're even expecting?

Someone recently told me that it's "bad luck" to purchase baby items before I'm expecting. What do you ladies think?

Im going to be honest because i don't want anyone to endure the heartache i went through. I brought baby stuff very early in pregnancy like literally as i conceived then lost my boy at 23wks 5days. It was devastating to see the stuff when i finally made it home. Id await you never know in pregnancy what can happen and you never think it will happen to you like myself but it can.

I didn't and I still hasn't purchased much other than a three onsies. The reason is because of I lose the baby then I'm stuck with all this stuff as a reminder. I'm currently 8weeks 5 days. Also another reason we are having the first grand baby and my family is big so expecting more than one shower (at least my mom says we are having more than one)

Do you believe it is bad luck? If you don't then it doesn't really apply to you. When you think it is bad luck, you get into your own head and end up giving yourself "bad luck"
