Putting newborn in crib

Is it a bad idea to put my newborn in his crib right away and not using a bassinet? His room is super close to ours

Cribs are for babies to sleep on, so yeah I'd say perfectly fine. Our little one will sleep in his crib right beside our bed.

Why not keep the crib in your room for the time being. The first few months are hard cause you get paranoid

It's fine, but they recommend baby stay in your room in the beginning to help reduce risk of SIDS....

Totally fine. And you won't have to worry about transitioning to a new bed later.
