Verbally abusive dad?
I was at Walmart (red flag #1) looking at baby costumes pulling my cart with my son (12 weeks) in his car seat inside of it. He's always very calm when we go out. A family, mom, dad, and a daughter around 2 years old pulled up next to me. I overheard the dad telling his daughter "you see the baby, he doesn't cry, he doesn't cry like you, look at how peaceful he is unlike you". At first I ignored it thinking the girl must have been crying earlier, but then the mom happily showed the dad some cute princess costumes and his reply was "yea those are nice, the problem is getting her to keep a dress on, she's probably going to be a lesbian."
I was shocked. How can a father say that to his toddler?! My mom has told me I hated wearing dresses as a baby but I didn't turn out to be a lesbian. Even then, I felt hatred in his voice while directing that comment towards the girl.
The mother during all this was just quiet and said nothing. I looked at her and she just looked away. I know she had to have felt the same way I felt about the comment but she didn't have the courage to stand up to that verbally abusive entitled husband of hers.
Idk what y'all will think but if any of you agree in that this was wrong, please join me and say a prayer for this baby girl and mother.
