Ovarian Cyst

I just found out that I have some sort of ovarian cyst. I got that info from reading the results of my ultrasound but haven't yet seen my doctor so I don't know what type or what it means. I did read that it's "firm" (loose translation from a different language). The exam was administered because of severe pain in the area. I'm looking for some info, comfort, or reassurance. Have any of you had this and have any stories to share? I know there are different types but I'd still love to hear. Thank you!
