Labor and Delivery Story

Danielle
So I was due Sept. 18th but I definitely didn't want to go over due because my mom is a travel nurse and she took a limited amount of time off before she has to got back. So I start using pressure points Saturday morning hoping that would help bring on labor. About 2 hours after I did the pressure points, I started feeling contractions in my back. The pain lasted maybe 30 seconds but it was all back labor. Around 8 p.m. the contractions had gotten way worse and they would come on and off. So about 10 I couldn't take it anymore not only was their back labor but I was feelings contractions in the front, so my mom took me to the hospital. My contractions were 3-3 1/2 min apart and I was dialated to 4 cm. so I was able to get my epidural. So I was able to get some rest because I was exhausted! They gave me some potocin and I went to 7 cm. I got checked a few hours later and I was at 10 and it was time to start pushing! I pushed for 3 hours and I was so tired! But the doc said I was pushing great. After I got exhausted everyone around me circled the bed cheering my on telling me I can do it. Next thing you know her head was out and I felt the rest of her body leave my body. Then the placenta was delivered which made the pressure in my stomach go away. When my daughter came out she wasn't crying so a team of like 6 people crowded around her incubator to help. She was just fine thank God! I had a couple of tears and I lost a lot of blood. So we're about to start testing and other things now to make sure I'm okay. I was so scared for birth, but it actually wasn't too bad. After all that time of pushing it was just so crazy to me that the doctor was saying her head is right here, here she comes, and boom she was out just like that. Welcome to the world -London Joy-
