Supervisor f*cked us over
I work as a newborn photographer. My supervisor's "last day" was today. I say last day because apparently this wasn't the end of her two weeks notice. Well, she was the only one scheduled for today as well (our busiest day) AND she was the one who made the schedule so she really shouldn't complain about it. Well, she didn't show up. Now let me you, I know how long women stay in the hospital generally before they are discharged and there us limited amount of time (at least with this company) that we can schedule pictures before mom's and babies have left. They have to be done before the day of discharge. I can go into the full details about how much time it takes for each shoot and sale and but let's just say their are TOO MANY babies to get done tomorrow before they are discharged by noon. We also have to compensate time for nurses and doctors going in out of the room and taking baby away and so on (we do the pictures in the recovery room with mom). So even if babies are scheduled at a specific time, if baby is too hungry, or doctor needs to see them or whatever we have to hold off and wait (and see if another appointment wants to go in their place).
There is also only one other worker than myself right now until next week. And neither one of us could go in today to help fix issues as I had specifically requested off today and was not in town, and my coworker has another job, except that she did get off her other job and go in and call all the people that were supposed to have appointments today and explain and we'll have to do them tomorrow. Bless her.
I could puke right now thinking of all the stress and such I'm going to be faced with in the morning. This is a part time job and shouldn't be this stressful.
