How can I help my boyfriend quit smoking?

His mom has lung cancer and his aunt passed away from the same. He wants to try smoking but I want to help also. I don't smoke but I know it will be  kinda hard for him to stop. What can I do to help?

He personally had to want to quit.  Really truly want to quit because if his heart isn't in it or he tries to quit for someone else he'll pick it right back up.  I smoked for over 10 years and a month ago switched to vaping and it's so much better.  I've even dropped my nicotine down in just that month.  Vaping is an expensive start up cost but it will save money in the long run and it doesn't have the crazy chemicals that cigarettes have.  I would have him look into it and see if it's something he would want to try.

My husband has been 3 weeks smoke free, using champix tablets. He had tried literally everything else and I couldn't be prouder of him

My husband quit cold turkey 3 years ago in November when we found out we were expecting! 
It's hard and he has a lot of friends who smoke but he does so well. 
He used to chew gum, he would keep a bunch of life saver creme ones I think in the car. It just helped a lot.

Just support him. My boyfriend and I quit smoking together two weeks ago cold turkey. I think if you have a good support system you can do it. But you have to WANT to do it, not be pressured into it, or it won't work.

All I could do for my boyfriend was be supportive. Didn't put him down when he caved and smoked. Just told him how proud I was of him always.
