Ladies, if a woman on here explicitly asks for kindness on her post, why is it necessary to disregard her wishes and make uncaring remarks? Even if you mean well, the lack of love in your written words and even simply the tone of your language can be enough to push someone over the edge. Most women asking for a lack of judging or harassment are already aware of any mistakes they may have made. Even if they are simply terrible people doing terrible things, you're not going to be able to tell that from a social media app. I've been the person in both situations. I've longed for kindness and I've refused to give it. I was rude to a woman on this app once and I deeply regret it. I've made a determination to change my actions. If something on a thread angers me or annoys me, I hit the back button and keep scrolling. Not saying something is way easier than typing out a response that may hurt someone. If you must try and correct a total stranger whose life story you don't know, do so in a way that shows you're a loving human being. There is a good chance your advice is being lost in a flood of other responses, so a response formatted as "tough love" only serves to fill this wonderful app with words that confirm the stereotypes of catty, petty, immature, and unloving women. Rise up. Be kind or keep scrolling. We can do it.
