Has anyone refused the 3 hr glucose test?

I'm just wondering. I failed the 1 hr and I'm not too happy bc I barely made it through and I didn't eat for 12 hrs. Like damn I could've eaten some eggs or something to help my stomach but nooooo lol. I'm just wondering if anyone refused it and what happens when you do?

There's no reason to refuse it. The health of your baby is more important than you being uncomfortable for a few hours, don't you think?

You can refuse anything but then your doctor might be forced to treat you like you have gestational diabetes even if you dont. They dont ask you to do it to torture you, they actually need the info so they know how to best treat you.

I wouldn't refuse it. It's a hassle and the last thing from fun, yes, but if you have GD and you don't catch it, it can be very dangerous. It's not worth the risk at all. Also- GD doesn't rely on any outside factors (health, diet, family history, etc). It's just an issue with the placenta and there's no way you can know if you have it or not unless you test.

It would be in yours and the babys best interest to take it i had to do the 1hr and i agree it is horendous but if you really do need to retest and you dont you could be putting yourself and your babys health at risk

If you want to refuse it, which I will be, you should go out and buy a monitor and some test strips so that you can test your blood sugar yourself at home!
That's what I'm doing, as my Grampa is a diabetic and I got the test supplies for free, I wouldn't be turning down the glucose test though if I wasn't monitoring my blood sugar myself. It's REALLY important to know, but it's also important to take into account if your body typically deals with such a large amount of sugar in a sitting, then that test will probably give accurate results, but if like me, you never ever have that much of a sugar oblate in a day, let alone in one sitting, then you can't expect it to give you the most accurate results.
But if you test daily, you can see how your body reacts to the things you do typically eat, and you can go from there!❤️

I barely failed as well. Level was 144 when standard range is between 70 and 140. I thought about skipping the 3-hour test because I kept thinking, "Literally, 5 less, and nobody would've put this second test in for me...🙄" I also pretty much eat very similar to the diet they would put me on. However, I'm a very curious person, so after procrastinating, I finally went and took it just so I would know because I'd feel badly if I did have it and didn't take care of it properly. I ate before going to sleep, went to do the test when I woke up (10 hours of fasting). It did make me feel nauseated, which sucks, but it's only temporary.

Needless to say, I don't have it. But I am glad that I found out.
