Surviving the hospital?

I've been in the hospital for a week. I still have 8 weeks left, and they're keeping me here until the baby is born. This week has gone by so slowly! I miss my husband and my 8 yr old son. The hospital is an hour away from home, so they aren't able to visit every day. Any tips to surviving the boredom of an extended hospital stay?

Unfortunately it's going to be hard. Get a good book or start watching a whole series on Netflix if you don't have Netflix I would recommend getting it you will definitely use it in the next 2 months. Hang in there.

Why are they keeping you there

Knit, color, window shop online, pay bills, arts and crafts as a big brother gift, read, get into a great show/channel, watch the news, read up on vaccinations, new dinner recipes, frame pictures, long baths, write a journal/Novel.

Depending on just how close an eye they're keeping on you and how you feel, ask if you can go read to any kids/elderly that don't have contagion issues on other units (i know you said heart issues- we have remote tele, so they can see your rhythm on the cardiac unit no matter where you are in the hospital).  
Our hospital has an "arts in medicine" program, where they let patients paint/draw, write poetry, that sort of thing. See there are any programs like that you can participate in. 
Send thank you notes for your shower if you had one and haven't sent them yet. 
Netflix.
Walk around the unit, to the garden if they have one (and you're allowed to walk).

Before hubby comes for a visit ask him to bring you some things. Like blanket pillow. Maybe one of your 8yr olds toys so you can at least feel he is there. Magazines or books. Maybe a laptop or tablet. Food so you don't have to stick to the hospital food. These are just a few of the things I would ask for lol. Good luck with delivery.
