Is it ok to eat Chinese takeaway?

Question

This may sound like a silly question but for some time I've really fancied some sweet and sour chicken balls with beef chow mein. I have found nothing on nhs website to suggest it's unsafe but just wanted to be sure. I'm 12+6. Does anyone know if it's perfectly safe to eat Chinese takeaway? Xx

I'm Chinese and I normally don't order Chinese 😂 I just make everything from scratch at home. This way, I know exactly what goes in, I can use local organic ingredients, and it's fresh & cheap!

We eat it at least once a week. My  SO craves it lol. He has worse craving than me lol!

In Chinese they mostly worry about prawns as they can be quick fried and not cooked thoroughly. I would avoid prawns 🍤

Having said that I've eaten some Chinese take aways during this pregnancy with special fried rice with prawns and prawn toast before my midwife said I should avoid them. I've had no problems so far, my local Chinese has always been good and never made me feel off or ill or cause baby any stress that I can tell... xxx.

I ate Chinese up until my 3rd trimester and only because the sodium. I dont want to deal with swelling so i haven't has any.  30w6d and still haven't had swollen feet or anything

I would say yes, just be careful of the sodium intake as Chinese food is high with it and you don't want to over do it. Then after eating it you feel funny, have a headache or just plain old lousy and don't know why!! I ate it a few times but made sure I drank water with or after to help.. and I order all my meat well cooked just to be on the safe side! Also I ordered no pork in my fried rice
