Baby shower or welcoming?

What are you going to do? And if you have had both what was better? And what kind of different things happen between the two?

We're doing a coed baby shower! I think a Welcoming is cool, but I would wait until the baby has their shots. Just my opinion. Congrats and good luck!! 💕

I live in Belgium and here a babyshower is not even a thing here.

We do register but people don't start buying stuff until after baby is born. The day you give birth you (well mostly SO) starts sending out cards to everyone with name of baby, weight and height of the baby, the name of the hospital + room number, godparents and other things you want to mention. On that card you also put where the register is and/or a bank account for the baby so people could give money instead of a gift. 
People do sometimes give kind of a party where family and friends can come meet their litle one but it's not that common. I think that is what a welkome party is then?

I think babyshowers are wonderfull. It's so much more convinient to have all of your stuff BEFORE baby comes. I was born in the wrong country 😄

We did a baby shower because I don't like my SOs family or parties so better to get it over with :). And I didn't want all those strangers touching my baby.

We are doing a baby shower in the States for friends and family here, and a welcoming in Taiwan for my husbands family and our friends there when baby is 3 to 6 months old.

Baby shower is nice as you do not have stress about germs and people holding and kissing the baby.  Or feeding the baby, etc. at the same time, it is tiring and some people hate these parties, hahaha.

I am doing both because we have family in two countries.  I will probably have a small get together with friends after baby is one month to introduce to them as well.
