I started having contractions at 6 pm regularly at anywhere from 3-6 mins they averaged about 4. This is my 4th full term pregnancy so not exactly my first rodeo so we went about our evening. Finally came into the hospital at about 1:45 am after a 30 minute drive. When I got here I was dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced.....I got to walk for an hour and then bounced on a ball for 45 mins I was checked and was a 4 and fully effaced... Finally got admitted at 430... By five o'clock I was hooked up to an IV for fluids and pitocin afterwards. My goal was for another natural childbirth and I was able to achieve that. Twenty after 5 I was a seven and 25 till 6 I was a 9 1/2. I pushed once starting at 5:50 and my midwife finished dilating me and then I pushed again and his head was out and two more pushes and he was out completely born at 5:58. Weighed 8 lbs 8 oz. , 21 inches long. 12 3/4 inch head. Have had three daughters prior and this is like a while new world lol. My healing has been fantastic. No tears, scratches, or rug burn thank God. His only thing is bruising on his face from coming out so fast, poor little man....
