Dying my hair (3rd trimester)

I have 8 weeks left until my due date and my hair has faded to a horrible orange color and I'm really wanting to dye it before my baby shower. I've been told it's safe but also been told the color won't come out the way you want it to.. I'm thinking of going dark brown, if I decide to do it
