September 23, is the new October 8th

Alejandra • Baby Boy Thiago was born September 23, 2016💙
I had woken up feeling very home bodied, I just wanted to stay in in bed and rest which is a bit unusual for me. I finally got up and took a shower and ate lunch. At around noon I started feeling some slight cramping. I played it off and decided to unbox some more new born gifts. By 4 I had started to feel pressure on my hips. My husband came home and I explained to him the pains, he told me to call the doctor on call at the hospital we chose. She stated that it was probably false labor to shower, lay down and relax with feet up. I tried that. Didn't work, I tried to sleep through them and couldn't and that's when I knew something was different. I called the doctor on call once again, she remembered me from the first call and said if you want just come in to be evaluated. At 12 I decided to wake my husband up and told him that it might be time. I packed my bag last minute through contractions. Thankfully babies was already done. We got to the hospital at 12:50. Walk through emergency department to get to the family birth unit.
They checked and I was 3 1/2 cm 50% effaced asked me to walk for an hour and checked me again and I was 4cm and 75% effaced (3am). They called the oncall doctor and decided to admit me. Started antibiotics since I am Strep B positive. About 45 minutes after of being checked and breathing extremely loud and throwing up between contractions, the anesthesias came in and gave me an epidural. By 6 I had to go to the bathroom, so they straight cath me and checked dilation, 6cm 90% effaced station 0, decided they didn't not want to break my water, they did say it was bulging tho. Two and half hours later they my actual doctor showed up and checked me, stated I was 8cm and broke my water. As my water broke her hand was still there checking Lol... she stated that my cervix was just disappearing and dilation was now 9 and that within the next three contractions I'd be a 10 which my doctor stated was a good amount of time for her to get changed into scrubs. Well when she walked back in I was holding back a push as another nurse walked in. Well anyways after 14 minutes of pushing, Baby T was born. No tears, was walking by noon. 🙏🏻 September 23, 2016, 7lbs 1oz, 19 3/4inches long.
