Cheating but forgiven

At the end of July I found out my boyfriend of 2 and a half years was cheating on me. I couldn't stand him I was over him I was done , and then a couple weeks later I decided I'd give him a second chance remembering there were times I didn't deserve it. This was his last chance , and now he's doing everything differently and trying to prove he's worthy and everything because he knows I'm not okay yet at all. Ladies from experience that got back with their boyfriends, were you ever able to look at them the same again. Or will I always resent him
