If both you and your husband work 60 hours a week and you have a 3 month old?

Just curious since there's a lot of women talking about daycare and night nurses.

I'd cut living expenses and work less. Why have a child if your just gonna get someone else to watch them day and night? Look at what its gonna cost you yo pay for day and night care - is it even worth it? Or is every dollar you earn just gonna be spent on care?

I would cut hours.  Bring it down to a 40 hour work week. I am not opposed to daycare, but 60 hours is way too much.

I work nights and study from home during the day and my husband works days. We have a 10 month old and I'm pregnant.... we'll sleep when we're dead!

My husband an I both work full time and will be using daycare. His mother is a teacher and will retire the end of this year and they will move closer to us and then they will watch the baby when we are working. I love my job and don't plan on leaving

I'm in Canada so thankfully we get paid mat leave for a year, but my SO makes enough money to support us without me working. Therefore I wouldn't hire help, I would rather spend my time with my baby than pay someone to spend time with baby. I would consider a career change, work from home, offer in home daycare or something. Perhaps one parent could work during the and one at night, split duties. Babies need their moms so I would sacrifice what I had to in order to provide the love and care my baby deserves, they are inly little for a short period of time and I would never want to miss that.

I work shift work and my husband works manual labour. Our daughter goes to daycare on the days I work nights and day shifts, and he only works 8-5 on those days so he can pick her up, as my shifts are automatically 12 hours. We just tried to make it work for us, although we hardly see each other or spend time together, it's what is working right now.

Cutting hours would be fine if you can - if you have a profession like teaching ( as I do) cutting back is not possible. My father will be retiring and will spend the week with us to watch our baby. After that, we will have to get childcare.
