bleeding while pregnant

Hi I am 6 weeks pregnant and I have been bleeding. I have been to see the hospital who have informed me that everything is ok. I am having pains like I am on a period and bleeding like one to. Has anyone else experienced this with their first pregnancy? Just need to put my mind at ease xx
