Howdy! I just got my mirena put in almost 12 hours ago and hollyyyyy shit, the cramping is almost like I'm on my period again (and I have heavy, awful periods)

When does it end? I have a heating pad and I might smoke a bit of cannabis indica to help with the pain, but is there anything else that might help?

There's no way to tell. I cramped really bad for the first 2 days after my insertion, then I had some on and off cramping for about 2 weeks.

For me, warm baths and heat packs really helped, as did gently stretching out my core muscles and very light exercise.

The bad cramps last about 2 weeks at the longest, but you still do get cramps every now and then after that, but not nearly as bad. I've had mine since August and I love it so far besides the fact that I've had my period for 13 days now 😅

I just got mine about 2 hours ago, my doctor said it's perfectly fine to bleed due to hot body getting used to it. Also you're going to have irregular periods for the first few months and after 6 months to a year, most women don't experience a period at all. I'm currently cramping and bleeding (and I had my period last week) so it's best to get a heating pad, drink liquids, relax and take ibuprofen.
