Go Fund Me accounts- for non medical reasons
So I have an old friend from college who set up an account today to help pay for her wedding. She doesn't work and her fiancé is in school. She's always complaining about being "poor".
Do you think it's ok for people to ask for money for life expenses (non medical and non emergent)?
Wouldn't it be the same idea if I set up a go fund me account to buy a new car?
What are your thoughts?
Is my friend being greedy and downright weird? Or it it justifiable since weddings are so costly these days..
Edit: I'm totally against it and was taken aback to even see that she did that! I'm embarrassed for her to be honest. I do feel like it's inappropriate to expect others to pay for her wedding. My dad always told me you can't drink champagne on a beer budget!
