Howe often do you? One month old.

Question

How often do you bathe a one month old? I give him a full bath 2 times a week and lotion his skin after bath time, but the skin on his hands and feet are peeling. I can't stand having a dirty baby and would give him a bath every night if I could, but I thought that I heard it should only be twice a week. Comments?

We would do about twice a week. When she was that little she wasn't getting dirty. Once she started drooling tons and playing more we started every other day. My pediatrician said that baby's oil production is establishing at that time and to avoid moisturizers for the first couple months and to let the skin figure out how much to produce. She also said just to bathe her in water for the first month or so then use soap when necessary. To each their own though!

I also, do everyday. I didn't at first because of the same reason. Her Ped assured me that bathing everyday would in no way harm her. We take a bath every night at 9 with Johnson and Johnson's bedtime Bath and then do the bed time lotion. I don't wash her hair everyday anymore cuz she has mild cradle cap and it seemed to be making it a bit worse. Having a night time routine is so helpful and wouldn't be near as smooth without her bath!

We do every day only because it's part of her bedtime routine and helps her sleep but we don't use soap or wash her hair every time. Twice a week is sufficient. But peely skin especially on hands and feet can be normal with a big growth spurt or if baby is starting to fill out weight wise.

If they aren't dirty, once or twice a week. But I always used lotion every night. Now if they absolutely need one, I give them one. When I did give her a bath every night, I didnt always use soap.
