Bleeding after cervix check

I am 35+1. Today the doctor checked my cervix and did my Strep B check. The doctor said we're 1cm dilated and starting to thin out (exciting)! A few hours later I was feeling extra crampy, but baby was moving a lot so I figured he was just putting pressure on my cervix. However, when I sat down on the toilet I noticed brown blood in my underwear which took me off guard. It did not look like my mucous plug, more like old period blood. I called the doctor's office and the nurse said it is completely normal to bleed a little after the cervix exam, and that they should've warned me of this potential while I was there. She also said the bleeding could continue into tomorrow and advised me to take it easy and to call back in if I got concerned of any changes. So I figured I would share my experience just in case anyone else has the same thing happen. Always call your doctor, but maybe this will keep you from panicking right away! Good luck ladies!
