Baby shower problem 😣

So yesterday we had a family friend pass away from cancer. There's talk that the service will be next Saturday, the same day of our shower. We called the family and so far their plan is to have the service next Saturday, nothing is set in stone yet. My husband has been very active with helping plan the shower and he thinks having the shower the following day would be better so no one needs to choose to either go to the shower or service.

I understand completely but I feel like going to a service one day and then the following day go to a shower is not enough time to grieve for everyone. I'm not sure what to do. We can't have it the following weekend because my sister who is planning the shower will be on vacation and this weekend will be too soon.

Anyone have any advice please.
