Mommy's to be again, how many newborn diapers did you go through before hitting size one?

My last ultrasound was at 32 weeks (now at 36) and the tech said she would be about 7 pounds 12 oz, so almost 8 pounds and I'm not sure how many newborn diapers to get at first. I want to have enough to not have to go out and buy more immediately, but not so many that there's a bunch left over and wasted. I already have a stash of 1's and a 88 pack of newborn.

I wouldn't buy newborns. My son was only 5lbs and i had only bought size 1. Theygave me plenty newborns diapers  at the hospital I just folded the size ones and he fit into them really fast

Better to buy big than small I would start with a small thing of newborns but if ur baby really comes out that big a size 1 would pretty much fit him but ultrasounds r just an estimate I've know lots of ppl and their baby was 2 lbs less that estimated amount

Get what you think. You can always return or exchange them for a different size! After our diaper party we had 10 boxes of size ones. We were able to take the boxes to Walmart and exchange to get what we needed! (We didn't need a receipt either)

It really just depends on the size/length of your baby. My son went through a small pack. My niece however never fit in them at all..

My son was born 7lb 90z and was in newborn for about 2 1/2 months

Id say get another pack(any amount) just in case you need them. If not you can always return/exchange them once you get out to do so. Newborns go through about 10/day so use that to help determine the amount you want to get but with her estimating big you may only need enough for a couple weeks if that. Also remember the hospital usually supplies enough for the stay and give you whats open or even an extra package to take home.
