Mirena IUD was yours painful?

Omg I just got the Mirena inserted today and it hurt like a bitch I have a very sensitive uterus and I suffer from very bad cramps. My gyno was in shock at the pain I was in while she was inserting it. It hurt so bad, I couldn't stop crying and and even now 2 hours later, my cramps are still so bad. Idk what to do, I'm just hoping the pain stops soon. I hatttteeeee these cramps.

Finally bought a heating pad and it has helped a lot along with taking hydrocodone. Today the pain was so bad until about 8pm. So I think its gotten to the point where the cramps are almost gone for good (: 
But the insertion was def terrible. If I get another in 5 years I will be taking hydrocodone before the procedure instead of some weak ass ibuprofen.
Either that or I even heard there is a medication that softens the cervix? Why don't Doctor's tell you about that?!

I got mine in on the 19th at my 6 week checkup and it was only uncomfortable while the doctor put it in. I had a few cramps throughout the day but that was it.

The sounding was the worst part for me. I only had bad cramps right after and the morning of the next day. This is my second day with it and it hasn't been too bad.

I got mine in August and the cramps were brutal for the first two weeks, and I still get small cramps every now and then. The cramps dull down and you get used to them. Don't worry :) just take around 600-800mg of ibuprofen and it helps a lot!

I had terrible cramps for the first 3 days as well. A heating pad and hot baths helped with the pain so so much. I also recommend staying home as much as possible so that you can be comfortable

When I got mine in it was so bad I got off the table with the duck bill tool hanging out of me . I was cry and almost backed out of it because I as well have really bad cramps

Worst pain I have ever had! I have the Liletta! I was in so much pain, I threw up and nearly passed out. It felt like it took forever for them to put the damn thing in, and there were like four women in the room. The doctor gave me vicodin, ibuprofen and anti nausea pills with a doctor's note that my employers told me I couldn't use because of my higher position even though they could have run the shift without me. It was an awful day. My mother gave me an anti anxiety pill just so that I could function at work because I was sobbing so much. I came back for the checkup and she couldn't find the strings. Had to get an ultrasound to make sure it was still in place which it was. My body is still getting used to it. My last period last nine days. But hopefully it will eventually go away.
