Have any of you ladies ever had gender disappointment?

I'm 5w6d and I can't help but want a girl. I know, it's so early!!! But even before I got pregnant I have wanted a little girl. Honestly, I feel like if I were to find out I was having a boy I'd be disappointed.

It's normal. I have wanted a girl since I was little. And so scared to have a boy. But my husband wanted a boy. We found out we were having a girl and I was so excited. But my husband was so happy until they said it was a girl. He lost his smile, he wasn't talking anymore. He was definitely sad. It took him about 3 days to come around and be excited. Now he can't stop talking about all the things he wants to do with her. And he has dreams about her all the time. And he cried when he felt her kick for the first time. He is definitely already wrapped around her little finger. And talks to her all the time and she responds. They definitely already have a special bond.  Don't feel bad. As soon as you feel that baby it all goes away. And you just fall in love with that little nugget.

Totally normal and ok. I promise, though,  you won't want anything but what you have the second you see your baby's face. 
But don't let anyone tell you boys are easier! That's been my experience but, it really all depends on the kid!

My hubby and I desperately want a girl. We lost our first pregnancy in March due to a lethal diagnosis, and it was a girl. I am 6w4d and am pretty sure this one is a girl. Praying for a healthy baby, but after losing our little girl I still would love for this one to be a girl. I have wanted a daughter since I was like 12. Eventually I would be fine with a boy, but it will be disappointing at first.

I was sure I was having a girl. We did an off the book ultra sound at hubby's work and they thought it was a girl but since they weren't techs they weren't comfortable with confirming it. So I went 2 weeks thinking that it was a girl, had a name, was so excited. But...my anatomy scan rolled around and my boy was pretty darn proud he was a boy. I was disappointed for all of 5 seconds. Now I couldn't imagine having a girl.

Yes, I cried for 2 days when I learned my baby is a girl. I couldn't picture myself with a girl. All my plans and expectations were for a baby boy. It's really a terrible feeling and you can't help it, although you also feel guilty like hell for feeling that way. But even if you don't get the gender you want, the disappointment won't last forever. I started getting used to the idea after 2 days and know I don't even remember what were my boy plans, I can't imagine myself anymore with any baby other than my little girl, whom I love more than life itself. And she's not even born yet. So try not to worry. And if it does happen, search for similar stories online, they helped me a lot, to see there are so many others just like me out there and to feel less of a horrible person ;)

I won't lie with my first I wanted a boy but found out we were having a girl I was a little disappointed at first but that feeling very soon faded and was replaced with love and excitement, I have a amazing beautiful daughter and we just welcomed my handsome son 2 months ago :)

It's normal. This is my first child, as well as my boyfriend's. Of course he wants a boy and I want a boy as well because he wants a boy so bad. 
But honestly I'd be happy with a boy or a girl since this is my first child. I won't be disappointed with either gender. Both genders are so fun and so different in their own way. But I feel like my boyfriend will have some gender disappointment if this baby is a girl.

I wanted a girl to name after my grandma and I just kept picturing this baby was a girl . I found out he was a boy and immediately fell in love with him when they told me j wasn't dissapointed just so excited to know what it was and finally feel like it was real !!

there's some things I wish I could avoid - dissapintjng mother in law who has 5 sons and waned a granddaughter - but I love him and I know he's going to be amazing .

Im having my 4th boy. It gets better with time. I never wanted boys. My whole life I dreamed of a girl. Now I love my life and my sweet boys and cant imagine life with a girl anymore. You adapt and grow and love your baby anyway.

I wanted a girl, my family has not had a boy since my brother was born 26 years ago. Well my husband and I are adding a boy to the family as well as my cousin and her husband (2 boys within 6 months 😂) I went to my gender appointment (alone because my husband is deployed) expecting to hear "It's a girl!" But instead I was asked if I could see his two legs which I could and then I seen the nub between them and knew automatically it was a boy. I had a feeling deep down that it was a boy but I was still hoping they'd say girl. Well after about 20 minutes of watching as he jumped around inside not letting the tech get the measurements she needed, I was over it not being a girl and was just happy I had a healthy baby. I do think when we go to have baby #2 if it's another boy I will have sooooo much more gender disappointment. I've always wanted one of each so hopefully we get a girl the next time!
