RELATIONSHIP ADVICE NEEDED

-Was I mean? Was I too harsh? Should I have said something different or reworded what I said?       - Yesterday my boyfriend said he wanted to take me to dinner for 2morro (which is tonight!) He has no idea what to do. I said think about it and let me know 2morro(again, today) Today is the day And I asked him. He replied "Idk. Still have no clue" I asked to think about if he wants variety or not, affordable or expensive, small and lively or grand and fancy. He said "idk" I gave him restaurant names he said "idk babe" now I'm frustrated because he has nothing planned and I'm trying to help. He said " I've never done this before." I said "why do you think I'm trying to help? You shoot down every idea..." I Don't wanna goto a buffet because You have to get up often to go get food and I want it to be intimiate And I wanna talk to him and tell little stories. I told him this, then I said "Then let's not go to dinner. It's difficult for you to figure out what to do and my ideas aren't good. Just come over and I'll cook. I have to cook today anyways. Plus we can eat and watch a movie after and can be comfy on the couch. And we don't have to deal with waiters and other people. It'll be just you and I." he replied "really?:( damn Ok" I could tell he was upset. Can you guys help?
