Anyone taking tyroide medication the whole pregnancy?

Anyone can tell if there is any side effects or babies will be fine ?  Started to take ir at 8 weeks and will continue the whole pregnancy.  Freaked out.

Thyroid meds?   Like synthroid?   It's a natural hormone replacement for something your body is lacking on its own.   You'd be way worse off NOT taking it.

I have bloodwork every 4 weeks so they can adjust my dosage if need be during pregnancy. There can be serious development issues with the baby if the mom's thyroid is too low. Just follow your doctor's instructions and make sure you get regular bloodwork done to keep an eye on your levels. Good luck 💕

I am hypothyroid and have been taking medication since I was 3 years old. I took it all through my first pregnancy with no ill affects and will take it straight through this pregnancy too. If you have a thyroid condition it's imperative that you take medication regularly without skipping. The thyroid controls the hormones in the body so failure to use it has the possibility of causing problems for both you and your baby.

I've been on levothyroxine since pregnancy with my second baby. Now preggo with number 3. Not taking it can cause problems with the baby, specifically brain development.  It should do no harm. Make sure you take it as prescribed to avoid effects of low thyroid on your developing baby.

Thyroid hormone replacement medications are perfectly safe during pregnancy! There is a scale used to determine safety during pregnancy that's A for safe and effective, B effective but safety isn't agreed 100% (still considered VERY safe), C which is starting to get "iffy," D which they will only give you if it jeopardizes your health if you don't take it, and X for "never take while pregnant." 
Thyroid meds (Synthroid(R), levothyroxine, etc.) are in the "A" category.

I took levothyroxine during my last pregnancy. My thyroid being off actually put me in preterm labor! Take them!

I'm taking thyroxine to *avoid* problems & side effects. Not taking it would be a freak out.

My doctor told me to let him know if I get pregnant because they will have to change the dosage so it doesn't slow the babies heart down. I no longer have a thyroid plus I have to take medication for the rest of my life
