When to start preparing?

Hello all! First time mom here, very early in pregnancy  (4 weeks and 5 days). I'm just curious to know when you ladies started to prepare for the baby, when did you start buying stuff and start preparing the nursery?

Within a month of finding out....after the shock wore off. Lol.
Looking back now at 39+6, I would say do everything as soon as your able because late in the pregnancy you'll have absolutely NO energy!

Started when we found out the sex. Gender neutral stuff like diaper pail, storage stuff are great buys. Just remember that most of the stuff on the market are not really needed. Yes they look nice and the idea of them are nice but in the long run a BIG waste of money. The sooner you start- little at a time you won't stress at the end(or like many after the baby shower) to fill the gap on really needed things

Thank you for all the input ladies, I really appreciate it!! My spare room which is currently my office will be the nursery so we will be moving my office to the basement right away and get started on the prepping and painting first! I have my first official drs appointment and dating ultrasound in 2 weeks so I will start picking up things early so it won't be too overwhelming as I progress. I want to enjoy this first time experience and not be stress. I think starting early is a good idea then I can stock up on certain things, watch for sales, and hopefully not go overboard lol. After we had our 1st ultra sound I think we bought a pair of boots. After that we just bought stuff as we found it on sale.

And often helps to spread the cost and you can take time and think about what you actually need. Most ftm tend to go overboard but it's your first and you're excited so it's allowed ☺️❤️ congrats

I waited to buy the big stuff (car seat, stroller, crib, etc.) until late 2nd to early 3rd trimester. As for stocking up on diapers/wipes, ANYtime. Clothes and such, you'll want to wait until you find out what you're having unless you're NOT finding out in which case, start now? Don't overdo with anything sized at first as you won't know for sure how fast baby will grow once he/she is here.

For now, go treat yourself to some NB gender beau real onesies and a package of newborn diapers. You can always return them if you want later but it's exciting!

I have just started ... 31 weeks here. But we are t buying a lot of stuff. I am going with the less is more philosophy of baby stuff.

We started at 9 weeks. Bought bottles, crib, & bassinet :) also start to stockpile diapers! It's never too early for that lol! We only started beginning of August we have a TON and aren't lacking but we could have way more lol!

I started around 10 weeks. Start with diapers wipes gender neutral if you please bottles pacifiers etc
