feeling awkward about sex?

I'm 36 weeks and just started cervix checks and my doctor could tell the baby was head down with just her fingers. I also can feel something hard down in my pelvic area. I am feeling super awkward about sex. I know it's safe but if she is really that low I feel like he will hit her in the head. Plus I am enormous and my belly gets in the way. Anyone else experiencing this?!? Any advice?
