paci?

Have any of you mommies out there introduced the paci to your LO? Little man was born on 10/3/16 and at times seems to only want to nurse for comfort.  Thinking of giving him a paci for those moments. Thoughts?

My daughter took the soothie kind (that they give in the hospital if you request it) for a short time, then she found her thumb and now she prefers that. She started it when she was maybe 4 days old or so.

I always just let me baby nurse when he wanted to. Whether it be for comfort or food. That's what they are there for. Also, my son was born 10/3/15 😁

When I took my breast feeding class at the hospital before I had my daughter they said do not give pacifier until breastfeeding is established... Other wise they will have nipple confusion and never nurse again!!! 😒 they scared me to death! I was terrified that if I gave her a pacifier then our nursing days where over.. So I just nursed her when ever she wanted it. They nurse for food, comfort, and in those early weeks for stimulation to get your milk supply up. It is your choice! I wish I had given her one. By the time we introduced a pacifier she refused it! Now she only sucks her thumb haha she still does nurse for comfort though. She is now 5 months old on the 10th.
