Gestational Diabetes 2

Elisha
So, i went to the doctor yesterday, and found out my healthy active little girl, is 6 pounds 7 ounces and Im only 34 weeks + 6. Also have an increase of amniotic fluid as well.... they put me on Metformin but i feel like it wouldnt even matter because she may still be big either way. They say she would be about 8 to 8 1/2 pounds if not taken care of myself properly but thats so hard to do. I feel like... she will get big and i may have a c section. One thing i want to avoid. What are you guys opinion on what i should do? I dont want to freak out.

I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. My doctor put me on insulin instead of Metformin. It does a better job controlling blood sugars. Also, they said they would deliver me at 39 weeks to keep baby from getting too big. Although I'm not a fan of he insulin, it gives me a little more freedom and comfort to eat things I like within reason. May be something to think about.

Take care of yourself! Try to limit snacks to fruits and veggies, hummus, cheese and crackers, you know healthy stuff. Drink lots of water. Go for walks. I get its hard to stay on track, but I'd rather put the effort into that than get a c section. Also always be weary when they tell you how big baby is- measurements can be off by 2 pounds.
