UTI Medication?

Hey everyone,

So my doctor called with results of a urine culture said I have to take Macrobid for 7 days. Has anyone taken this and had any problems? I read mixed reviews on it, I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant.

Make sure you take it with food, otherwise stay close to a bathroom lol. This is my 3rd time on it this pregnancy and now I was just told to do the 5 day course and then one pill daily until 36 weeks bc I have been getting recurrent infections. After 36 weeks it's not recommended bc it can cause anemia in a newborn.

I took macrobid for a uti in the 1st trimester. I think the label says not to take if you are in your 3rd, but your doctor has deemed the benefits out way the risks and that is why they prescribed it to you. You definitely need to take something because you don't want it to turn into something worse, like a bladder or kidney infection

I'm currently taking this for a UTI. I'm 7+5. I haven't had a problem. Just make sure to eat or drink milk with it.
