state insurance and breast pump ?

My state covers breast pumps for those with state asstitance insurance. Not sure if manual or electric but do I ask my doctor or would I have to call my insurance company.  Anyone have any ideas?

Your doctor can give you a "prescription" then you can call your insurance.

I have state insurance and I called them and they told me what to do. I'm glad I called because it ended up being this super long process of things I personally had to do. I have to wait until she's born too to get it :(

Ask your doctor to write a prescription. I actually did at my appointment today and they contacted the right people for me. They gave me the option to have it mailed to me or just have the hospital send me home with one once I give birth.
