TMI....what does constipation feel like?

And can you still be having somewhat difficult strained BMs and still be constipated? I have IBS-D so I've been constipated only maybe a few times in my life. Right now I'm having pain through the sides of my abdomen with increased pain when I press on it. It feels like maybe trapped gas? I'm 22 weeks pregnant. Thanks.

Ugh constipation is the worrrrrst. At first you just can't poo. Annoying, but meh. After a few tries and you still can't it becomes painful, becsuse you can feel you have to poo, but really, really can't, no matter how hard you try. You might pinch off a marble sized poo that feels like having passed an entire semi-truck through your ass, but, you can't get relief from true constipation without some drastic measures. You will feel full, plugged, and poopy until you figure out a way to manage it. It. Hurts. So. Bad.

You'll know you're constipated if you can't poop lol. that's the dead giveaway 🙄After a while, it'll start hurting, you'll feel full and gassy.

So I have Crohn's Disease, in remission for over 10 years but diarrhea is still a pretty constant companion, I usually have 1 normal stool, 3 soft stools, & 1 liquid stool a day, when I got pregnant it changed to 1 normal stool & 1 soft stool a day, I felt super bloated & uncomfortable everyday, after talking to my gastroenterologist, going from a ton of bowel movements to very few can also be considered constipation, 1 thing I found that helped was eating things that I couldn't eat before (apples, hummus, spicy foods) stuff that used to cause tons of diarrhea now just helps me poo normal :)
