Vistaril to stop contractions? Preterm labor

I'm 21 weeks and went into preterm labor but I'm only dilated to a one so I was put on vistaril to stop the contractions but it's not helping any, has anybody else been put on it for the same reason and it not help? It's making me sleepy so I know it's working but not with the contractions..
