cabbage leaves for sore nipples???

Question

Have you guys tried putting on cabbage leaves to help treat sore nipples?
I am having a very hard time breastfeeding my 6 day old. I really dont want to give up. I have tried hydrogel pads and lanolin cream. They seemed to help a little but they didnt really heal the nipples. 
Would love to hear what worked for you guys!

If you want to breastfeed, don't use cabbage leaves as it helps to dry up your supply. Just a heads up :)

This helped for me. Running it under cool water was complete relief. Now if it could only get them to use on the bags under my eyes lol

In between feedings I would slather lanolin on my nipples and use these guys to keep my nips from rubbing against my bra to give them a break! They're called medela softshells and really helped in those early days when my nipples were literally on fire!

Your nipples are getting use to it. It takes a couple weeks but it will pass. If it's a latching problem you can contact a lactation consultant.

I use Lansinoh lanolin and squeeze out a little bit of breastmilk and let it air dry on your nipples. Mine were so cracked and sore and that helped a lot!!

Have you had your baby checked for lip or tongue tie by a lactation consultant? If there's pain than its pretty likely. I use Earth Mama Angel Baby natural nipple butter and it's been awesome for healing my nipples. I will also express a few drops of milk and let it dry on my nipples - breast milk is magic stuff, haha.

I used cabbage leaves for engorged breasts but not sore nipples. Have you tried using nipple shields to give your nipples a chance to heal. Really helped me.
