engagement

My boyfriend and I have been dating for over a year and we have talked about moving in together and e also have talked about getting married.I want to move in With him But I would like to be engaged first because of mine and my family's beliefs. He says he wants me to move in first because it's more romantics and who cares what other people think. I really don't feel comfortable moving in until we are engaged but I can't tell him that he kinda just blows it off. Then later he is like ya after we move in together... he thinks we have to move in together in December cuz if some personal reasons his parents are getting divorced and some stuff that's just the best Time but I'm starting to feel like I'm just gonna have to say no because he doesn't onderstand that I will get lectured by family and friends because I'm not MARRIED that why I at least want to be engaged. I don't need it to be all the way traditional but this is super important to me and I feel like he doesn't understand
