I'm 21 and I'm adopting my friends baby.

I'm 21 years old and my friend recently came to me and asked if I would adopt her child. She is 18 and her family isn't in the right place to help her nor is she in the right place to either. She believes her doing drugs and her family as well won't be the best option for the baby. And since my family has welcomed her as our own, she feels that we would be a great match to give the baby the best possible opportunity. I feel as if we can. Financially and emotionally we can. I'm just not sure she knows how big of a responsibility and task it will be to just hand over a human she created for 9 months. I mean she will still have visitation and everything. But is this something to worry about? she's still very early in her pregnancy ( first trimester).
