I'm in need of help, why can't I get pregnant!

Me and my boyfriend have been trying for a baby for probably about 6 months. He is 24 and I am 22. We have never had kids before. We weren't hardcore trying until a couple months ago but sadly it's been kind of unsuccessful. He's had test done at his doctor and they all came back great. Also I talked to the doctor about possibly not being fertile and she said she wasn't worried about it with me but we can check if we're still trying in a year and are unsuccessful. He's now saying he wants to wait to try, which I respect even though I feel like he's just saying it out of disappointment. It makes me feel depressed that I failed any advice being it emotional or future advice would be helpful.
