Parental stress affects baby?

This may be a dumb question, but can the baby while he/she is in the womb feel the mother's stress?

I've been suffering from pretty bad depression and anxiety throughout my pregnancy and my doctor told me not to worry. She said our bodies were made for stress even during pregnancy. I've had it really rough and have had serious outburst, I try to relax and take it easy especially lately at 34 weeks. People always say your baby can feel your stress, but if my OB says it's okay then I trust her!

Yes, there are hormones that are released when you are stressed or happy or any other emotion and they can be passed through to the baby. It can cause him to have an irregular heartbeat during those hormonal influxes, good or bad. Can cause other things as well.

The baby can't emotionally feel stress the way you do but it can affect the baby, meaning it can cause pre term labor and such along those lines
