Newly Diagnosed - Insight?

So, I'm 18 yrs old, diagnosed about a year ago. So far I've switched two birth controls. My weight, acne, anxiety, and cysts are becoming a large problem. Just wondering what other ladies, like myself, are out there doing to help cope/treat their symptoms!

My biggest advice if you have any type of insurance is to go to an obgyn or an endocrinologist on how to regulate your periods. Finding body movement that you enjoy is really great. I have been doing yoga and swimming for over a year. Also getting used to a lower carb lifestyle can help. My nutrionost recommended 90-120 grams of carbs. My doctor told me that people with PCOS absorb carbs at a rate triple that of normal digestion so lowering the carbs is a good first step. I'm on 1500mg of metformin per day, and progesterone cream 14 days out of every month to help with my periods. I'm 330 lb and fairly active. It takes time to find what works for your body but it's manageable. Watch for depression too as PCOS can higher rates of this. I notice my mood fluctuation the most during cycles which is why I love this GLOW app.

Spirnolactone helped me a lot for acne. Ask an endocrinologist about it.
